Mr. Ajit Kumar Maity presently working as Chairperson, AMFI-WB and Chairman, Villages Financial Services Pvt. Ltd. He is the Pioneer of Micro Finance Industry in Eastern Region of India. He started his career as a School Teacher. He first formed an NGO called Village Welfare Service for development of poor and downtrodden. After that he started micro finance activities and become the NBFC-MFI in West Bengal. He was the Governing Board Member of Rashtriya MohilaKosh, Sa-Dhan and many other reputed organization.

Mr. Rakshit is associated with Sarala Women Welfare Society, an Indian NGO-MFI as Co-Chief Executive Officer since June 2006. Mr. Rakshit has made a name as a dynamic microfinance practitioner. Pranab Rakshit, Bachelor of Commerce, Chartered Accountant (Intermediate).

Mr. Modak has had more than 21 years of hands-on experience in microfinance activities both in India and Bangladesh. His deep understanding of the subject has been the foundation for a good start-up of SMGBK and has led SMGBK to the present position. He is the founder Secretary of SMGBK and MD of Srija Chemo Pvt. Ltd. He is also holding dual resposibilities as Chairman of NGO Association of Microfinance (NAM) and Member of Sa-Dhan. He has been awarded “Indira Gandhi Sadbhavana Award- 2015 by International Business Council and “Jewel of India-2016” by International Institute of Education & Management. He has also been recognised as an outstanding performer in the field of Microfinance in West Bengal by Association for Microfinance

Mr. Chandra Shekhar Ghosh is the Founder, Managing Director & CEO of Bandhan Bank, the first instance of a microfinance institution becoming a universal bank in India. Mr Arun Jaitley, Union Minister for Finance, Corporate Affairs and Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, launched the bank on 23 August, 2015, in Kolkata where it is headquartered.
Mr. Ghosh founded Bandhan in 2001 and led it to become India’s largest microfinance institution before it got the in-principle banking licence from the Reserve Bank in April 2014. His understanding of microfinance and vast experience has won him various awards. For instance, he was declared a ‘Senior Ashoka Fellow’ (social entrepreneurship award) by Ashoka Foundation in 2007; he also won Forbes India Leadership Awards in 2014 in the category ‘Entrepreneur with Social Impact’. The Economic Times, India’s largest business daily, declared him ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ in 2014. The AnandabazarPatrika (ABP) Group handed over the prestigious ‘Serar Sera Bangali’ honour to Mr. Ghosh in the same year. Recently, he received Microfinance India Awards 2015 in the category ‘Lifetime contribution to the sector by an individual’ and has also been conferred with the ‘Outstanding Leadership’ Award 2015 by Dhaka University Statistics Department Alumni Association (DUSDAA), Bangladesh.
By virtue of his peerless leadership, he adorns a number of important chairs in many important trade and business bodies. He is a member of the Managing Committee of Indian Banks’ Association (IBA); a member of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Sector Committee, Government of West Bengal; Vice President of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI); Chairman of CII Economic Affairs, Finance & Taxation Committee. He is also a member of Financial Inclusion Committee constituted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). He is also an Executive Committee Member of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
Mr. Ghosh holds a M.Sc. in Statistics and has attended the HBS-ACCION Program on Strategic Leadership for Microfinance at Harvard Business School.

Mr. Kartick Biswas is the director of Uttrayan Financial Services Pvt. Ltd and associated with microfinance and capacity development related activities for the last 15 years. He is an expert in SHGs, JLGs, rural appraisal, finance, funds, operations and project monitoring. He is also a Board Member of AMFI-WB. He understands & well manages business plan. He was part of the core team, which set up and built Uttrayan from inception. As the Head of Uttrayan, his role included building and growing the company’s portfolio in these sectors. He has good leadership qualities and can lead and represent the organization in all areas. He has enriched his knowledge by attending different programmes and seminars on this field organized by different leading institutions for institutional development. Training imparted from RMK, NMDFC- New Delhi, Planet Finance, EDA, Bandhan and Care India.

I Ms Rahima Khatun, I have started my carrier as a Social Worker at Tajmahal Library (Gram Bikash Kendra), a well known NGO in the area. Then I got the assignment as a Coordinator of Women Development wing at the same organization & I have leant a lot during my tenure in this organization.

I have done my masters in History from Calcutta University and also completed B Ed.

I joined as Secretary of “Nari-O–Sishu Kalyan Kendra” a women development organization working for the women, youth and children.

Major thrust of the activities are Community Mobilisation, SHG formation, Awareness & Advocacy on women rights & empowerment, Education for women & children, Vocational skill development for women, initiation of microenterprise, Health & Nutrition for the women & children, Non Traditional livelihood for women’s and girls and also for street connected children.

Manoj has over 30 years of working experience and is the currently with the Aavishkaar Group as the Managing Director of Arohan Financial Services Limited – the 5th largest NBFC MFI, active in the 10 low income states of central, east and north east part of India. He started his working career with Modi Xerox in 1988 and then moved into consumer financial services with GE Countrywide in 1995, retail banking with ANZ Grindlays in 1997 and retail assets and business development with ABN Amro Bank NV India in 2000. He moved as Head Retail Banking of National Bank of Oman in 2002 looking after Oman, UAE & Egypt. Post that, he worked as the Chief Operating Officer of the Alhamrani – Nissan Finance Company, KSA in 2004 and returned to Oman as the Dy CEO of Ahli Bank SAOG in 2008. He returned to India in June 2010 as MD & CEO of IntelleCash Microfinance Network Company (P) Limited (an Intellecap Group company) in the business of incubating and capacity building of MFIs. In this job, he led setting up the lending businesses in both the retail and wholesale (this is today a separate company called IntelleGrow) space. In September 2012, using the parent Intellecap’s structuring skills and backed by Aavishkaar Goodwell, IntelleCash acquired a 56% controlling stake in Arohan. He is a mechanical engineer by graduation from VJTI in 1986, an MBA in Marketing by post graduation from JBIMS in 1988, both from Mumbai University and has tertiary qualifications in insurance from III. He completed the “Strategic Leadership in Microfinance” course from the Harvard Business School, Boston, US in April 2013 and “Strategy meets leadership” course from INSEAD, France in August 2019. He is a Director on the boards of Arohan and Aavishkaar, member of the Group Executive Council at Intellecap, and was the Chair of the governing board of MFIN, the microfinance sector SRO, in 2019 and 2020. He earlier served on the MFIN board from 2013 and was also its President in 2015/16. Now he is acting as Vice President of MFIN from 2023-24 onwards.

Dr. Kuldip Maity is an experienced Managing Director of 1st ISO certified micro finance company Village Financial Services Pvt. Ltd. Since 2006; with his strong leadership and proven capacity in strategic work VFS Capital is a renowned and successful MFI in West Bengal. Academically, after completion of Graduation he has completed Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) and Masters in Social Work (MSW). He has several national and international exposures and visited almost all important national microfinance companies. He visited Bangladesh, Philippines, South Africa, Indonesia, Srilanka etc. to learn more about the international micro finance practices and exchange the ideas, developments, etc. He had attended series of training and workshops organized by national and International agencies like SIDBI, BIRD, NABARD, RMK, NMDFC, CARE, NIPPCCD, RBI, Sa-Dhan, M-CRIL, IRMA, ISB, CGAP, Planet Finance, CII etc. He is also one of the resource person in the micro finance sector. He had conducted several trainings on Micro finance. He has some more achievements in his bag- 1) “Rashtra Pratibha Puraskar” by “Integrated Council for Socio-economic Progress” in recognition of outstanding achievements excellence and experience in chosen field of activity (Micro Finance). 2) He has also achieved “Vijay Ratan Gold Medal Award” and a ‘Certificate of Excellence” too for his outstanding in development sector by International Institute of Education & Management. 3) Last year Dr. Kuldip Maity was elected as a Board Member of Sa-Dhan, an association of community Development & Finance Institutions for next three years. 4) Indian Solidarity council has nominated Dr. Kuldip Maity’s name to receive ‘Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award” for his excellent achievements and contributions in his field of activities in 2013. 5) Dr. Kuldip Maity is honoured to have “Global Achiver’s Award for Business Leadership, 2013”. 6) Dr. Kuldip Maity was awarded as “Doctor of Honours” which is a singular honour being conferred on the basis of his achievements in humanitarian services and merits of excellence. This felicitation was arranged by senate of University during proceedings of the World Congress of Integrated Medicines held at Colombo, Srilanka.
